Course Description
As Montessorians we should strive to develop our Practical Life areas to the fullest benefit of the children. Practical Life is one four major curriculum areas, that also include Sensorial, Language and Math. For most children starting in Montessori schools around the globe, lessons in practical life will be among their first experiences. These “humble tasks of daily living” can be done at home or school, from dusting and sweeping to metal polishing, washing dishes and gardening.
The essential point to keep in mind is that there are underlying purposes to these lessons, far beyond the mastery of any specific skill: the sense of order, concentration, coordination of movement and independence.
This course is PERFECT for Early Childhood teachers and expectant parents wanting to create learning environments at home.
